"THE WEDDING SINGER" POSTPONED
29/3/2020
It will not come as shock to anyone reading this that Coronavirus has shut down the UK for the next few months (at least), this of course means that theatres all over the country have been forced to close their doors, including Perth Theatre. This unfortunately means that our production of "The Wedding Singer" has been postponed for the moment.
We are all devastated at these unforeseen circumstances, we have put so much hard work into this show but we need to keep our cast, crew and audience safe - that is the most important thing in these worrying times. We do hope that everyone will be able to join us when we are able to reschedule! The show really is fantastic, and who knows - maybe after months of social distancing you will be desperate for some cheesy tunes, some high octane dance routines and some side splitting comedy...how good does that sound!?
Please keep an eye on our social media channels for any important updates and for some uplifting content to keep everyone's spirits up during lockdown :)
We hope to see you all very soon, stay safe everyone and keep smiling :)

NICE DAY FOR A WHITE WEDDING
12/3/2020
Well we made it! The wedding/80's themed 3k sponsored fun run/walk is completed! We all thoroughly enjoyed the day and the 'wedding reception' went down a storm, who doesn't love a bit of wedding cake!
We will be able to announce the total amount very soon but until then; we just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported us - as a local charity we really appreciate the support from our friends, families and local fans of musical theatre - we couldn't perform without your help!
Hope to see you very soon :)

6 WEEKS TO GO!
26/2/2020
Can you believe it's only 6 weeks to go!? Rehearsals are going fantastically well and we are loving being transported back to the 80's every week!
We are so excited for our upcoming fundraiser the "Race Down the Aisle" fun run/walk on the South Inch in Perth but we are even more excited for our "wedding reception" at the end of the run at The Pavilion Cafe! So if you see any wedding guests/hen parties/brides/grooms running around on the 7th March at around 11am - don't be alarmed! Information on how to donate is on our homepage :)
We also have to say a huge thank you to everyone who attended our annual pub quiz in The Venue at the end of last month - we raised a massive £525 between the entry fee for the quiz teams and the ever popular bottle stall! A massive thanks to everyone at The Venue and to everyone who helped at the event - with 21 teams this year we hit a record! We can only hope that next year is even bigger!
But for now...it's back to rehearsals!
Hope you all have your tickets everyone! :)

NEW SHOW, NEW MEMBERS, NEW PRODUCTION TEAM!
3/10/2019
This season so far has brought us lots of changes and we are really loving it!
Firstly, we have a all new production team with every post being filled by people we have not worked with before which is really exciting! We interviewed a lot of brilliant candidates and the lucky three were chosen, we are so thrilled to welcome Angus Reid as our Musical Director, Kat Grieve as our Director and Brooke Robertson as our choreographer - what a fabulous trio!
As well as a new production team, we have recently held our new members auditions and we welcomed lots of new talent which we are so thrilled about! We even managed to get some more new men - which is definitely something to celebrate. We can't wait to get to know our new members better during this season :) (and if anyone happens to find a spare man lying around, throw him our way! We always need more men-folk!)
Our rehearsals for the Wedding Singer are well under way and all I can say is if you love the 80's you are in for a treat! Our principal auditions will be held at the end of October so watch this space for an update on our cast - break a leg to our auditionees :)
See you all soon!

A HUGE THANK YOU...
14/6/2019
Well, 9 to 5: The Musical already seems like a distant memory to the cast and crew of PAOS! However, we would like to thank every single audience member who attended this year's show and made it the roaring success it turned out to be! Every year we are so grateful to our audience members, Front of House helpers, friends, family and everyone else who helps get us to the Perth Theatre stage! Without your support we wouldn't be able to perform every year so we are eternally grateful to you all :)
Following the show this year we decided to produce a survey to get our audience members involved and have a say in what they would like to see in the coming season and to get any feedback on the show. This was very well received and we got some fantastic feedback, so thank you to everyone who took the time to give us your thoughts - it really helped us to understand what the people of Perth would like and what we can improve on in years to come.
The feedback from the survey has been so useful it has even helped us to pick next year's show!! So keep your eyes peeled as the announcement will be made at our AGM on 20th June and then announced to the public on Friday 21st June via Facebook/Twitter/Carrier Pigeon! We hope you all like our choice and hope to see everyone in the audience next April!
Also keep your eyes peeled for the professional show photos of 9 to 5: The Musical which I am hoping to upload to this website soon! :) No rest for the wicked...

WORKING 9 TO 5...
18/11/2018
After the amazing response to Sister Act in April this year (sold out crowds and standing ovations every night!) we knew we had a tough job on our hands picking our next show and after much deliberation we chose 9 to 5; The Musical!
Having seen the show myself a few years ago - I knew that the people of Perth would love to see this! It's fantastic, funny, touching and of course, still very relevant in today's world! Dolly Parton has written the score for this show - which is fantastic news for Dolly fans, but for those of you who aren't so sure - don't worry - some of these songs are not your typical "country" songs and are very well written to fit the musical, not the musical fitting around Dolly! The script is laugh-out-loud funny and there are beautiful moments of real girl-power set in a time when girl-power was something few and far between.
We have already had a few rehearsals and so far we are having a ball - we can't wait to get our teeth in a bit deeper!
Below is our (very strong!) cast list for you to have a peek!
Violet - Jane Taylor
Doralee - Bekki Mackenzie
Judy - Nicola Hay
Franklin Hart - Jonathan Cammidge
Roz - Anne Kemp
Joe - Christie Young
Dwayne - Simon Laidlaw
Josh - Mark Murphy
Missy - Anna Jellye
Maria - Morag Thomson
Dick - Stuart Forbes
Kathy - Jennifer McOmish
Margaret - Liesa Wallace
Detective - Dougie Lawson
Doctor - Susan Kirkham

Keep an eye out on our Facebook and Twitter pages for any upcoming fundraising events and more 9 to 5 related news!!
